Is Email Marketing Dead

Let's ask any Marketer with a huge list they will tell you that their rates, their open rates, their click-through rates are on a decline year after year, But the question is ? does that mean its dead? If you really think about it, in terms of return on investment Email marketing is the cheapest, is the most cost-effective way to reach out to the existing audience. Why is it important, well who do u think is easier for marketing to? A brand new customer or to an existing one? 100% on existing one So the question is how much time should you be focusing on a platform that is on a decline every single year?

Here is the thing, here is my take, that right now email marketing is definitely here to stay even though it is on the decline However right now there is a new layer. Marketers have always talked about the first step in the entire internet marketing game it's always getting somebody name and email to build a relationship with them. The new player right now is social media and collecting a retargeting pixel. Now, this is a new term for you. it pretty much has you noticed these ads that seem to follow you everywhere no matter where you go?

Now the reasons why these ads follow you everywhere is not because the advertiser is really been aggressive but rather one point in time you either visited their website or you engaged with their content on Facebook by commenting it, liking it or sharing it And because of that you are 'pixeled'.  Now this pixel over here allows them to target you without you giving them your name or email, That is the new layer today.

The new layer is to create this pixel, custom audience targeting list which is nearly as good as having their contact. without getting their name and email address, So is email marketing dead? No, not really but there is a new player right now the new player, which is a retargeting thing which is custom audiences that acts as the medium whereby they don't know who you are yet and before they give you the name and the email, so allow them eventually give them the name and email so that it forms a traffic that you eventually control,
