Most people feel confidence is going out there and being liked by people, your audiences and having the charisma to control a certain crowd, or be a star of a certain room or party when really confidence is not about that, Confidence is the ability to be who you are even though you won't be liked, knowing very well, that not every one will agree with your message and to be okay with it because it's way more important to be authentic self rather than putting a mask, or a show. that to me is confidence.
The problem is, however, the way i see it, is far too many people put on a mask, this show, try to be people pleasers whereby either number one they have a important message. They want to do something bold, but they are too afraid of someone else opinion. They to define who they are. Again, confidence is your ability to stand your ground, to maintain your beliefs about who you are and to be okay with not being liked.
Ask yourself, how many times have you allowed someone else opinion criticism or judgement to define what you can or can't do? How often have you allowed a peer a friend, when was the last time where you had a great idea and you allowed someone else to talk you out of it?
At the end of the day Confidence is not being liked, but rather being okay when your not liked.
